Google has launched a new project in Sydney which takes street view further, rather than just capturing images at the street level a team of Google photographers are now going into buildings, restaurants, bars etc and taking panoramic shots.

This will allow Google users to check out venues visually online before deciding whether they want to visit the physical business location or not. Ultimately this will be integrated into Google Local Business listings and will become a new feature for local search.

This provides local businesses in Sydney opportunities online to showcase their interiors and attract potential customers.

At the moment this project is being run in Sydney and San Francisco and will expand depending on the success it has in these two cities.
